Girls’ tennis vs. BNL
   On Monday, April 20 the Loogootee Lady Lions traveled to Bedford where they lost to the Stars 3-2.  
   At No. 1 singles Emily Callahan (L) defeated Sammi Jennings 6-1, 3-6, 6-1, at No. 2 singles Branigan Hewitt (BNL) defeated Andrea Vaupel 6-2, 6-1.  At No. 3 singles Loogootee’s Brittney Bateman defeated Brianne Ikerd 7-6 (4), 6-2.
   Loogootee was defeated in both doubles action with the team of Valerie Wickman/Sarah Allen being defeated 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and the team of Kelli Potts/Ashton Matthews was defeated 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles by Michelle Mullin/Megan Cox (BNL).
   In junior varsity action, the Lady Lions were also defeated 5-2.  Hannah Lamar and Emily Sutton were the only winners with Hannah defeating Chelsea Hillenburg 8-6 at No. 1 singles and Emily defeating Whitney Drake 8-0 at No. 4 singles.
 At No. 2 singles Meg Bohling (BNL) defeated Brittany Eckerle 8-0, and at No. 3 singles Olivia Fields (BNL) defeated Jill Taylor 8-4.
   At No. 1 doubles Katelynn Tlustek/Madie Ikerd (BNL) defeated Lindsay Wininger/Becca Zins 8-3, and at No. 2 doubles Sany Boehme/Terra Cummings (BNL) defeated Erin Wittmer/Kylie Sims 8-4. At No. 3 Doubles Nisha Nagarajan/Tanna Cox (BNL) defeated Allison Kiser/Natasha Trinkle 8-0
 The varsity Lady Lions season record now stands at 6-2.
 Loogootee Coach Mike Tippery said, “We are getting good sets from players, but BNL is a good team. In order to beat good teams, you have to put two sets together.”
