Lady Lions Tennis team defeats ND, South Knox
   On Wednesday, April 8 Loogootee Lady Lions’ tennis team traveled to North Daviess and returned with a 5-0 victory.  
   At No. 1 singles Emily Callahan (L) defeated Stacey Beard 7-5, 6-0, and at No. 2 singles Andrea Vaupel (L) defeated Shannon Winklepleck 6-1, 6-0.  In No. 3 singles action, Brittney Bateman (L) defeated Macie Doades 6-0, 6-0.
  The No. 1 doubles team of Valerie Wickman/Sarah Allen (L) defeated Maggie Wagler/Edith Gonzales 6-0, 6-0.  Also winning at the No. 2 doubles slot were Kelli Potts/Ashton Matthews (L) defeated Justene Gingerich/Sarah Smith 6-0, 6-0.
   In junior varsity action the Lady Lions also were victorious by defeating the Lady Cougars 2 – 0.    
   At No. 1 singles Jill Taylor (L) defeated Lizzie Bough 6-0 and at No. 2 singles Brittany Eckerle (L) defeated Lizzie Bough 6-0.
  Loogootee Coach Mike Tippery said, “From start to finish, everyone played well today. Emily played a great match at No. 1 singles against a quality opponent.”
  On Thursday, April 9 the Loogootee Lady Lions hosted the Lady South Knox Warriors with Loogootee adding another victory to the win column, 4-1.
  Loogootee’s only loss came at the No. 1 singles slot with Allison Hacker (SK) defeating Emily Callahan 7-6 (2), 7-5.  The Lady Lions won at No. 2 singles with Andrea Vaupel (L) defeating Katie Gray 6-0, 6-0 and at the No. 3 singles slot with Brittney Bateman (L) defeating Laura Rastl 6-0, 6-1.
   The Lady Lions won both doubles matches with the No. 1 doubles team of Valerie Wickman/Sarah Allen (L) defeating Heidi Burch/Kelsey Cummins 6-0, 6-0 and the No. 2 doubles team of Lindsay Wininger/Ashton Matthews (L) defeating Emily Gray/Chelsea Rehwald 6-0, 6-0.
   Junior varsity action saw Loogootee defeating South Knox 1-0.   At No. 1 singles Becca Zins (L) defeated Paige Hill 6-1.
