Lady Lions tennis defeated
by Lady Jeeps
   On Tuesday, April 14, Northeast Dubois traveled to Loogootee to take on the Lady Lions tennis team with the Jeeps taking home a victory, 4-1.  At No. 1 singles Kendra Heeke (ND) defeated Emily Callahan 6-1, 6-1. At No. 2 singles Gabbie Terwiske (ND) defeated Andrea Vaupel 6-1, 6-4, and at No. 3 singles Jasmine Riecker (ND) defeated Brittney Bateman 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
  In doubles action the Lady Lions won their only match with the team at No. 1 doubles Valerie Wickman/Sarah Allen (L) defeated Kirsten Smock/Erin Smock 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.  In No. 2 doubles Jordan Kleinhelter/Lori Vonderheide (ND) defeated Kelli Potts/Ashton Matthews 6-2, 2-6, 7-5.
 In junior varsity action, Loogootee and Northeast Dubois split 1-1.  At No. 1 doubles Lindsay Wininger/Jill Taylor (L) defeated Abbie Miller/Emily Wessel 8-2.  At No. 2 doubles Abbie Miller/Emily Wessel (ND) defeated Erin Wittmer/Kylie Sims 8-5.
   The Lady Lions’ record is now 5-1 for the season and in Blue Chip Conference 1-1.
  Loogootee Coach Mike Tippery said, “This was a great match. Northeast Dubois is a very good team. We got off to a slow start but picked it up as the match went on. Toward the end we just ran out of gas. The effort was there, but they were just a few points better.”
   Northeast Dubois has not lost a regular season dual match since May of the 2006-07 season.
