Rangers park Loogootee
By John P. Mullen
After a convincing win on their home floor the night before against neighboring Shoals, the Lady Lions took to the road and came home empty-handed as the bigger, faster, and stronger Lady Rangers handled the visitors 66-49.
Coach Dave Smith threw everything but the kitchen sink at the hosts defensively, but there was very little slowing the inside-outside punch that Forest Park possesses.  After one quarter, Loogootee trailed just 16-11, but the lead jumped to 34-23 at intermission.
The third period was all FP as they sizzled, opening a twenty-point bulge.  The Lady Lions were productive with 18 tallies in the fourth stanza but by then it was all she wrote.
Once again, the two posts played well inside as Tia Pennington poured in 15 to go with seven boards and Kelci Mann finished with a baker’s dozen.  Wynter Wagoner also punched in eight of her 13 in the final frame to also reach double figures.  Waynessa Burch scored seven and reserve Kayla Dant added 1-2 at the free throw line to account for all the points.
Meanwhile, Forest Park shot the ball extremely well, stroking six three-pointers, five coming from senior guard Amy Wendholt.  Wendholt put up a game-high 17 and teammate Amanda Braunecker powered up for 11 points inside.  The Range also blistered the nets from the charity stripe, knocking down 14-16; on the flip side, the Lady Lions could only muster 9-17.
