Lady Lions impeach Senators
 By John Mullen
Loogootee utilized a rare Monday night game to bounce back from a tough Blue Chip loss to Rivet as they raced past the visiting West Washington Senators 56-25.
Coach Dave Smith substituted freely after the first quarter as his starters built an early 17-5 lead after one frame and actually poured in the next 17 before settling for a 34-9 halftime advantage.  Wynter Wagoner again paced the victors with 14 points, including two treys. Kelci Mann and Tia Pennington both worked themselves free to the tune of 10 points each. Waynessa Burch tallied six of her eight markers in the first period, and Taylor Walker drained two 3’s on her way to eight as well.
The bench supplied a few points as Kayla Dant scored four and Brooke Nonte two. Audra Lannan did not hit the basket in her four quarters of action, and Gabrielle Ritchey picked up a few assists but did not dent the scoring column for the 9-5 Lady Lion outfit. The score ballooned to 48-16 after three stanzas, but WW out-scored the Lion reserves 9-8 to make the final score a bit more respectable.
Walker and Wagoner continue their long-distance dialing as the two sophomore bombers have combined for 56 three-pointers on the year, 30 for the former and 26 for the latter. Brooke Dearwester and Whitney Bowman own a share of the girls’ three-point record for makes in a season with 41.
Loogootee has a rough go of the season slate in the next several days as they travel to Northeast Dubois on Thursday, Linton on Saturday afternoon, and then entertain Wood Memorial in another Monday night outing, this one re-scheduled from a snow-out two weeks ago.
Senior night for Mann, Burch, Dant, and Lannan will be next Thursday evening, January 28th, in a BCC affair versus South Knox. The Lady Lions conclude their season the following week on the road at Eastern Greene and North Knox before sectional play follows at the Lions’ Den.
